3...1...2

Mid-way between the historic town of Cahors and the medieval village of Montcuq in the beautiful Lot valley,
you will find Fournou.

The region is steeped in history and the Lot is widely acknowledged as the department with the most sites of historic interest in the whole of France.

Beautiful churches and chateaux abound, and the Lot river valley itself is breathtaking in its beauty with sheer cliffs and small villages nestling in its twists and turns as it meanders
through fields of sunflowers so typical of the French countryside.

Quite apart from its famous rich red wines, Cahors’ ‘Pont Valentré’ is one of the town’s many tourist attractions and the market is not to be missed for its fresh local produce and the colorful stalls.

Fournou is the perfect base for those who appreciate traditional French architecture as lovely towns and villages such as Puy l’Evêque, St Cirq La Popie and Lauzerte are all within easy reach.

The village of Montcuq with its lively café society and Sunday market has a medieval tower which dominates the local landscape and, for a change of scene from the swimming pool, guests may like to visit the swimming lake in Montcuq which is open all year and supervised during the busiest times.

Surrounded by fields and situated in approximately 6 acres of its own grounds which include a truffle wood,
Fournou is a collection of Quercy stone farm buildings which have been lovingly restored and beautifully decorated throughout to provide a tranquil setting
for your holiday with all the comforts of home.

The farmhouse is the largest house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps up to 6 people in its spacious rooms.
The cottage which is at right angles to the Farmhouse but totally separate, has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and will accommodate 4 people very comfortably.
We are more than happy for one party to take on both houses.

The kitchens in both properties are fully equipped and include dishwashers. Washing machines are also available in both houses for guests’ use.

Mountain bikes are available for exploring the countryside on two wheels, and a badminton net and swings should help keep the children amused
when they are not cooling off in the large swimming pool.

Improvements for 2007 include total renovation of the pool and the surrounding area including the installation of a laser alarm and fencing in of the pool area which will be completed on July 1.
Inside, all bedrooms have been totally re-styled to include new beds and bedroom furniture as well as coordinating bed linen and towels.

Peter & Louise, the British owners of Fournou, are on site but in an unobtrusive part of the grounds, and Louise is fully bi-lingual.

Our aim is to provide everything our clients will need for a comfortable and memorable stay at Fournou.
